Tahari (Aloo/Potato Rice)
Ingredient:
- Rice 2 Cups(Wash and soak)
- Potatoes 4(peeled and cut into cubes)
- Onions 3(finely sliced)
- Tomatoes 2(roughly chopped)
- Green chilies 2 (sliced)
- Salt
- Ginger & Garlic Paste 1Tbsp
- Oil as required
- Water 3 Cups
- Turmeric 1/2tsp
- Coriander powder 1/2tsp
- Chilli Powder 2tsp
- Cloves 3-4
- Black Cardamoms 2
- Cinnamon 2
- Cumin Seeds 1/2tsp
Preparation:
- Heat oil and fry onions till brown.
- Add Ginger/Garlic Paste, Tomatoes, Turmeric, Coriander Pwd, Chilli Pwd., Cloves, Black Cardamoms, Cinnamon and Cumin seeds and cook until oil separates.
- Now put Potatoes, fry potatoes in masla for 4 - 5 mins, add 1/4 cup water cover and let it simmer for few minz or until potatoes are half done.
- Now add 3 cups of water in the pan; add rice, green chillies and salt bring to boil.
- Cover the pan, let it simmer on lowest flame (dum) for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve with raita and salad.
