Tahari (Aloo/Potato Rice)

Ingredient: 

 

  •  Rice 2 Cups(Wash and soak)
  •  Potatoes 4(peeled and cut into cubes) 
  • Onions 3(finely sliced)
  • Tomatoes 2(roughly chopped)
  • Green chilies 2 (sliced)
  • Salt
  • Ginger & Garlic Paste 1Tbsp
  • Oil as required
  • Water 3 Cups
  • Turmeric 1/2tsp
  • Coriander powder 1/2tsp
  • Chilli Powder 2tsp
  • Cloves 3-4
  • Black Cardamoms 2
  • Cinnamon 2
  • Cumin Seeds 1/2tsp

Preparation:
  1. Heat oil and fry onions till brown.
  2. Add Ginger/Garlic Paste, Tomatoes, Turmeric, Coriander Pwd, Chilli Pwd., Cloves, Black Cardamoms, Cinnamon and Cumin seeds and cook until oil separates.
  3. Now put Potatoes, fry potatoes in masla for 4 - 5 mins, add 1/4 cup water cover and let it simmer for few minz or until potatoes are half done.
  4. Now add 3 cups of water in the pan; add rice, green chillies and salt bring to boil.
  5. Cover the pan, let it simmer on lowest flame (dum) for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Serve with raita and salad.
